A two-goal first period lifted the Denver Cutthroats past the Rapid City Rush on Saturday night in Denver. The win pushes the Fish to 3-0-1 in their last four home games and 7-3-1 on the season against the Rush.
Chris Greene and Todd Orlando scored the first period goals for the Cutthroats who later followed a Scott Wray power play goal with a score from Jeff Neitenbach regaining the two-goal cushion at 3-1.
In the third period, the Cutthroats were outshot 14-7 but Troy Schwab scored the only goal generating the final 4-1 count.
Kent Patterson stopped 34 shots improving to 10-5-0 on the season.
