Quad City’s Neil Conway Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week
GLENDALE, AZ (January 1, 2013) –The Central Hockey League announced today that Quad City Mallards goaltender Neil Conway has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 30, 2012.

Conway remained unbeaten for the Mallards winning both of his games last week. In wins over Missouri and Wichita, the Concord, Ohio native stopped 59 of 63 shots. On Wednesday, Conway made 30 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over Missouri. In the shootout, the rookie turned away seven of eight Mavs shooters. On Saturday, Conway made 29 saves including 17 in the second period of his team’s 3-1 win in Wichita ending the Thunder’s nine-game home win streak.
The first-year goalie was signed by the Mallards on December 18 and has won all three of his starts so far allowing just four goals. He started the season in Rapid City where he went 1-2-2 in five decisions.
