The Fort Worth Brahmas (27-15-5) have long been a great home ice club but it has been the road as of late where they have done more damage and have closed to within a few points of first place in the Berry Conference.
The Brahmas are coming off back-to-back wins in Denver over the weekend and have now won four straight games away from home. Overall, they are back to .500 on the road at 11-11-0 to go along with their outstanding home mark of 16-4-5. In their last eight away games, the Brahmas have won seven of them outscoring their opposition 26-18 over those games.
Goaltending has been a strength this season with Kristofer Westblom (2.36 GAA) and Brad Fogal (2.63 GAA) sharing the load.
Westblom is officially a rookie and he is carrying a 15-5-3 record with a league-best three shutouts. Fogal is 12-8-1 with a pair of shutouts of his own.
Fort Worth has two games remaining on their current five-game road trip playing in Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forward Tomas Klempa could be a key for the team down the stretch and into the post-season. The native of Slovakia had 51 goals over the past two seasons with Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. He is on pace to score just under 20 goals this season but is heating up lately with three goals in his last two games.
Defenseman Greg Eskedjian was signed in January and he has been a great pick-up scoring two goals with five assists and a +7 in 13 games.
The Brahmas and head coach Dan Wildfong won the CHL Title in 2009 and they look like they could be primed for another long run.
