Talk about turning up the defense, the Arizona Sundogs have been the best team in the CHL over the last dozen games or so allowing just 42 goals over their last 18 games.
The 2.33 goals per game average is more than a half a goal less than their season average which is just under three goals per contest.
Over their last 18 games, the Sundogs have been more impressive if you throw out two bad games where they allowed six goals to Bloomington on January 5th and five goals to Quad City on January 25th. You take those two games away and their GAA drops dramatically to 1.94.
In 14 of their last 18 games, the combination of Adam Russo and David Brown has allowed two goals or fewer.
Arizona is 5-1 in their last six games allowing just nine goals.
Brown has won four of his last five decisions allowing just six goals in the four wins.
Russo has won eight of his last 11 decisions allowing just 17 goals over the eight wins.
The Sundogs are 23-21-4 and have moved into a tie for fifth place in the conference.
