The Wichita Thunder have had strong play in net all season and so far in the post-season, the trend has not changed.
Adam Russo has earned the win in five of the Thunder’s six games so far and is coming off an outstanding 31 save effort in Game 1 of the Berry Conference Finals against the Texas Brahmas, a 3-1 win for Wichita.
Russo has stopped 125 of 136 shots so far in the playoffs (.919 save percentage) and is sporting a 2.06 GAA allowing two goals or fewer in five of the six games so far.
The regular season was incredibly consistent for Russo who was acquired by the Thunder prior to the start of the season in a trade with the Quad City Mallards.
The Montreal native went 27-11-3 with a 2.61 GAA and he never lost more than two straight games.
The Thunder will look to build on their strong performance and Russo’s outstanding play in Game 2 against the Brahmas on Sunday. Face-off is scheduled for 5:05 PM CT.
