What an addition defenseman Brett Skinner has been to the Allen Americans.
Skinner and the club are cruising in first place in the Berry Conference with a 9-1-0 record and a six-game win streak.
Skinner, a former third round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2003 NHL draft and a veteran of 11 NHL games, has points in all 10 Americans games thus far sitting first among d-men with 16 points (5-11=16) and tied for second overall in the league.
The Brandon, Manitoba native has played across the Atlantic for the past two seasons dressing for Khabarovsk of the KHL in 2010-11 and in three different leagues last season. Combined during those two seasons, Skinner scored three goals with 20 assists for 23 points.
His 11 games in the NHL came during the 2008-09 season with the New York Islanders.
Allen and Skinner are back in action on Thursday night when they host the Missouri Mavericks.
