Veteran Smyth a Great Presence for Fish

When the Denver Cutthroats signed forward Brad Smyth in the off-season, they knew they were getting a proven professional who would be huge in the locker room and huge on the ice.

The Ottawa native has 88 NHL games and 15 NHL goals under his belt playing with Florida, Los Angeles, NY Rangers, Nashville and Ottawa.

More than 15 years ago, Smyth put up one of the best individual seasons in AHL history with 68 goals and 126 points with Carolina.

This season with the expansion Cutthroats, Smyth has 12 goals and 16 assists and entering Tuesday’s game versus Rapid City is on a nine-game point streak.

His 28 points have him in the top five in the league in scoring and his presence with the Cutthroats and his mentoring to the younger players has them primed for an impressive inaugural campaign.
