Mavs regroup after embarrassing loss

The mood was a bit more upbeat Wednesday morning at the Independence Events Center, following Tuesday night’s third-period collapse that led to a 6-3 Arizona Sundogs victory over the Missouri Mavericks.
Rookie goaltender Mike Clemente and few of his teammates were in the training room, equipment manager Andrew Dvorak was folding a large stack of orange, white and blue towels and coach Scott Hillman and assistant director of hockey operations Simon Watson were in their office prepping for the 7:05 p.m. Friday game against the league-leading Allen Americans.
“We all hate what happened Tuesday night,” said Clemente, who gave up three goals in the third period before the Sundogs collected two empty-netters in the final seconds of regulation.
