Sebastien Thinel Notches 800th CHL Point
GLENDALE, AZ (February 15, 2013) – Missouri Mavericks forward Sebastien Thinel became just the sixth player in CHL history to record 800 league points thanks to a pair of assists in the Mavericks 3-2 win over the Bloomington Blaze on Friday night.
The St. Jerome, Quebec native is playing in his second season in Missouri after playing the previous eight seasons with the Odessa Jackalopes. Thinel has scored 279 goals with 521 assists in 614 career CHL games.
Thinel has won two Joe Burton Scoring Championships, both with Odessa (2009 and 2011) and was also named the 2009 CHL Most Valuable Player.
The veteran forward is on pace to win his third scoring championship as he leads the league with 71 points on the season (21-50=71).
The six-time all-star joins Joe Burton, Travis Clayton, Jason Duda, Doug Lawrence and Chris Richards as the only players with 800 CHL points.
The Mavericks are in fifth place this season with a 25-18-4 record and 54 points.
