For the first time since November 8th, four different teams received first place votes in the Central Hockey League Coaches Poll. The Colorado Eagles retain the bulk of the top selections with 11, while Memphis (3), Laredo (2) and Bossier-Shreveport (1) were also viewed by some as the CHLs top club. Colorado remains the top ranked club for the sixth straight poll, while Laredo and Memphis now share second position.
While no teams dropped out or moved into the Top 10 for the first time all season, the New Mexico Scorpions received a #7 ranking, their highest of the season, while the Corpus Christi Rayz move up to #5, equaling their highest position of the season.
Throughout the season the CHL will release the results of the Coaches Poll. Each first place selection earns 10 points, second place earns 9 points, etc. Coaches cannot vote for their own team, creating a potential perfect score of 160 points should one club receive all 16 possible first place votes.
