The Youngstown SteelHounds remained undefeated with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Corpus Christi Rayz on Saturday night. Petr Pohl scored the game winning goal in the seventh round of a shootout (Hounds won the shootout 3-2). The reigning Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week, Andy Franck, made 34 saves improving to 3-0 on the season.
Youngstown received a pair of goals in the second period building a two-goal lead after two frames. Kevin Jarman and Gord Burnett scored for Youngstown. The Rayz came back in the third period with a pair of power play goals, one by Jon Jankus and the other by Geno Parrish. Jason Tapp also made 34 saves taking the loss for Corpus Christi who falls to 1-2-1 on the season.
Youngstown will travel up the road to play another undefeated team, the Texas Brahmas, on Sunday while the Rayz will host the Laredo Bucks.
