LAREDO’S DUSTIN TRAYLEN NAMED SHER-WOOD/CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
The Central Hockey League announced today that Dustin Traylen of the Laredo Bucks has been named the Sher-Wood/Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for the season’s opening month of October/2007. Traylen will receive a custom leather jacket from Sher-Wood, the official stick, glove, pant and protective equipment supplier to the CHL to recognize his accomplishment.
Traylen has been perfect this season winning all four games he has started while recording a pair of shutouts. His four wins and 1.48 goals against average rank him second in the CHL and his .941 save percentage is third. The Kirkland, Quebec native is currently working on a stretch of 153:45 without allowing a goal and he has been a key component of the Bucks tremendous season-opening run that has them 7-0 this season.
The 6-3, 203-pound goaltender is in his third professional season and his first in the CHL. Prior to this season, Traylen has posted a record of 34-28-4 in 71 professional games. His college hockey was played at Clarkson University between 2002-2005.
Other goaltenders receiving consideration for the monthly award for October include Arizona’s Bill Zaniboni, Colorado’s Clayton Pool, Oklahoma City’s Jason Wolfe, Rio Grande Valley’s David Lemanowicz, Rocky Mountain’s Scott Reid, Texas’ David Cacciola and Youngstown’s Andy Franck.
