OAKLEY CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 11th, 2007 is center Simon Watson of the Rocky Mountain Rage.
Watson had a remarkable two-game stretch last week that saw him notch a hat trick on back-to-back nights. For the week, the Waterloo, Ontario native had six goals and three assists in two games, both victories for the Rage. On Friday night, Watson had three goals and an assist in Rocky Mountain’s 7-4 win over Texas and then for an encore he had three goals and two assists in a 7-2 victory over Amarillo on Saturday night. The 27-year-old forward currently ranks just outside the CHL’s top 10 with 15 points (8-7=15). Watson was a CHL All-Star last season with Lubbock where he finished with 49 points (24-25=49) in 64 games. The 6-0, 182-pounder was signed by the Rage in the off-season.
In recognition of his achievement, Watson will receive a special gift from Oakley.
