Bats Win Another in a Shootout
The Austin Ice Bats played in their third consecutive shootout this weekend and as was the result last night, they came away with the victory. John Ronan scored the game winner in the shootout lifting the Ice Bats to a 2-1 win over Corpus Christi.
Austin started the scoring with Kurtis Kisio scoring his fourth goal of the season at the 8:15 mark of the first period. Corpus Christi would tie the score just over a minute and a half later with Brent Howarth tallying on the power play for his ninth goal of the season. The teams would remain tied at one until the shootout decided things with Ronan scoring his fifth goal of the season and first game winner.
Miguel Beaudry made 33 saves winning his second straight game and improving to 3-2-0 in his last five decisions.
The loss snapped the Rayz three-game win streak but moved them to 3-0-1 in their last four games. Austin is 2-0-1 in their last three games.
