CONNORS WINS GOALTENDING DUAL OVER FRANCK
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The Youngstown SteelHounds fell to the Oklahoma City Blazers by a score of 2-1 in overtime on Sunday afternoon. The Hounds finish their eight game home stand 3-3-2. Youngstown finishes their regular season series with the Blazers at 3-1-1.
Ryan Watson scored his first of two goals at 13:50 of the first period to make it 1-0 Blazers after 20 minutes.
Youngstown tied it up in the second period as Ryan Bennett scored at 11:58 to make it 1-1 after two periods. Both teams were 0-5 on the power play. Oklahoma City out shot the Hounds 42-34 for the game.
After a scoreless third period Ryan Watson netted the game winner at 2:03 of overtime for his 19th of the season to give the Blazers the 2-1 win. Sean Connors made 33 saves on 34 shots in the win. Andy Franck made 40 saves on 42 shots in the loss.
The Hounds move to 28-17-4 (60 points) and maintain second place in the Northeast Division. The Blazers improve to 22-22-6 (50 points) but remain in third place in the Northwest Division.
