The Central Hockey League, currently in its 12th season of play, has announced the return of CHLtv, bringing live video and audio action to high-speed internet users across the world. The pay-per-view service utilizes live video and audio streaming from CHL arenas, and is broadcast directly onto home computers using the Real Audio player.
Last year the Central Hockey League, in conjunction with Infinity Pro Sports and EyeCentric Media, broadcast 40 CHL games, including the Presidents Cup - clinching Game 5 victory by the Memphis RiverKings over the Austin Ice Bats in double overtime. Infinity and EyeCentric have now formed the Live Sports Network, which will carry approximately 200 CHL games this season. A much more comprehensive game schedule will be featured this year, beginning tonight. This evening, viewers can view any of five CHL games, including Colorado at Oklahoma City, San Angelo at Laredo, Rio Grande Valley at Amarillo, Austin at Bossier-Shreveport and Lubbock at Odessa. The Central Hockey League is in its12th season of play, with 17 current member teams (including the expansion Colorado Eagles and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees) in eight states, and is the only minor pro hockey league in North America to show consecutive attendance increases the past two seasons, finishing with an average per-game attendance of 4,401 in 2002-2003.
