Bucks One Win Away from Conference Finals

Laredo-Odessa Game Three Box Score
Odessa, TX – The Laredo Bucks maintained the level of consistency they displayed in game’s one and two of their best of seven Southern Conference semifinal series with the Odessa Jackalopes by once again dismantling the Jacks this time by a final score of 6-2 at the Ector County Coliseum. Laredo is one game away from a series sweep outscoring the Jackalopes 16-7 in the first three games.
Laredo took the wind out of the sails of the Jacks with an Adam Rivet goal just 44 seconds into the game. For Rivet it was his third straight game with a goal and his seventh point of the series (3-4=7). Later in the opening period, Igor Agarunov scored his third goal of the series giving the Bucks a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
In the second period, Alex Goupil got his name on the score sheet with a shorthanded goal via a penalty shot. The goal from Goupil was his second of the series and it turned out to be the game winning goal in the game. Five minutes later, Chris Korchinski added another shorthanded goal pushing the Bucks lead to 4-0. A Kevin Wilson power play goal cut the lead to 4-1 after two periods but it was a little too late.
The third period watched Chris Stanley and James Hiebert score goals making the score 6-1. A late Colin Circelli goal finished the game off with a four-goal win for Laredo.
Dustin Traylen made 30 saves improving to 3-0 in the post-season. Odessa finished outshooting the Bucks 32-29 in the game.
Game four is scheduled for Friday night in Odessa with Laredo having a chance to sweep the series.
Notebook: Colin Circelli had a goal and an assists giving him four points in the series…Mike Gorman saw his first action of the series replacing Alexandre Vincent in the second period and allowing two goals on 10 shots…Alex Goupil was a game-high +4 along with his three points (1-2=3)…Josh Chase led the Jacks with four shots on goal…Seven of the last nine minors called in the game were whistled against Laredo…The Jacks went 1 for 8 on the power play.
