Thursday Night's Round-Up
The Texas Brahmas had to worry a little bit on Thursday night as they spotted the Corpus Christi IceRays a 2-0 lead after two periods but a huge third period propelled the Southeast Division leaders to a 4-2 victory at the American Bank Center.
The win is the fourth straight for the Brahmas who pull to within a point of Odessa for the Southern Conference lead.
Adam Powell and Chris Richards scored the two goals for the Rays giving them the lead but the Brahmas responded thanks to all-star defenseman Justin Kinnunen who scored a pair of goals tying the game just five minutes into the third period.
Kinnunen then set up what turned out to be the game winner at the 12:19 mark finding Jason Deitsch who beat Kris Tebbs for his eighth goal of the season and third in his last four games.
Scott Sheppard found an empty net for his 24th goal of the season, he also added two helpers in the game.
David Cacciola made 25 saves earning his eighth win of the season.
