OAKLEY CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED
New Mexico’s Kyle McNulty Earns Weekly Award
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Feb 22nd, 2009 is Kyle McNulty of the New Mexico Scorpions.
McNulty played in all four Scorpions games last week and his strong play since being pushed into the starting spot has propelled his team back into the playoff picture. Last week, the Wakefield, Rhode Island native posted a 3-1 record with big road wins at Corpus Christi and Odessa. He saw a lot of rubber stopping 125 of 138 shots in the four games. On the season, the 5-11, 178-pound goaltender is 6-3-0 with a 2.75 goals against average and one shutout. The Scorpions are just four points behind Corpus Christi for the fifth and final Southern Conference playoff spot.
In recognition of his achievement, McNulty will receive a special gift from Oakley.
