All attention will be focused on the Kansas Coliseum tonight as the Wichita Thunder and Colorado Eagles hook up in Game 3 of their Northern Conference Semi-Final Series. The other three Central Hockey League playoff series resume Saturday evening, with Bossier-Shreveport visiting Indianapolis, San Angelo skating in Amarillo and Laredo heading to Rio Grande Valley. With a win, the Thunder can win their first playoff series since 1997/1998 when they beat Oklahoma City 4 games to 3 with a 5-4 overtime win in Game Seven to advance to the finals. The storyline to this series to date has been special teams and comebacks. The Thunder fought back from two one-goal leads in Game One to earn a 3-2 lead behind a pair of goals by veteran Jason Duda. In Game Two, the Thunder rallied from a 3-0 deficit, scoring three goals in the third period to eke out a 4-3 win to take a 2-0 stranglehold on the series. In two games, Wichita has scored five power play goals, converting at a rate of 31.25. In the regular season, the clubs met four times in Wichita, with the Eagles claiming three narrow wins; 4-3 on November 8th, 1-0 December 19th and 4-2 on March 10th. The Thunders lone home win came January 31st by a 4-3 score.
