Rapid City’s Danny Battochio Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

Danny Battochio has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 30, 2011.

CHL Goaltending Leaders
Battochio won all three appearances this past week earning the first ’w’ in relief of Tim Boron on Friday night in a 6-5 win at Odessa. Battochio entered the game with his team trailing 4-3 but he stopped 18 of 19 shots allowing his club to come back for the win. On Saturday, the Lively, Ontario native stopped 32 of 33 shots in a 3-1 win at Odessa and then on Sunday, Battochio turned away 20 shots in a 4-2 win at Allen. He finished the week with a 3-0 record, a 1.65 goals against average and a .946 save percentage.
The 2010 CHL Rookie of the Year is 17-15-4 this season with a 2.89 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.
