PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro announced today the team has signed veteran goaltender Scott Reid.
Reid, 34, appeared in 34 games with the Edinburgh Capitals of England’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) this season before joining the Texas Brahmas (CHL) for six contests.
While with Edinburgh Reid compiled a 8-24-2 record before earning a 1-1-0 mark in six contests with the Brahmas.
The 12-year-pro spent parts of two seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL), appearing in 20 total games with the Milwaukee Admirals, Norfolk Admirals and Peoria Rivermen.
A native of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Reid was named the league’s Most Outstanding Goaltender during the 2003-04 season, finishing with a 32-9-4 record while leading the league in both save percentage (.934) and shutouts (6).
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound backstop has spent a majority of his career in the CHL, skating for the San Antonio Iguanas, San Angelo Saints, Corpus Christi Rayz, New Mexico Scorpions and Rocky Mountain Rage before this year’s stint with Texas.
The four-time CHL All-Star ranks sixth in league history with 140 wins and eighth all-time with 11 shutouts.
