If there was any doubt about the 2010 CHL Champs and their desire to get back to the CHL Finals, some of that may have been resolved on Monday night with an impressive 4-0 shutout victory over the Bloomington Blaze at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The win avenges a loss to the Blaze on Saturday night and it puts an end to a brief two-game slide for the Rush. It also put an end to a three-game home winning streak for Bloomington.
Konrad Reeder paced the Rush offensively scoring a hat trick with an assist for good measure and Tim Boron did the work in net stopping all 28 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season and second in his second in his last three appearances.
The win moves the Rush to within two points of Quad City and fourth place in the Turner Conference.
Rapid City outshot the Blaze 33-28 as Boron improves to 9-5-0 on the season.
Zane Kalemba made 29 saves but falls to 12-13-1 on the season.
