What a post-season it has been for Wichita forward
Thomas Beauregard who is currently tied for the league lead with 13 points (4-9=13) during the playoffs. Only Missouri’s Sebastien Thinel has as many points.
The Montreal native began the playoffs with a three assist effort in Wichita’s 4-2 win over Rio Grande Valley in the Opening Round, was held without a point in Game 2 of that series and has since rattled off at least a point in each of the next eight games.
In Wichita’s current conference finals series with Texas, Beauregard has three goals and four assists and is a +4.
During the regular season, Beauregard had 22 goals (including five game winners) and 37 assists in 60 games. December was his best month where we recorded 19 points (8-11=19) in 14 games and he finished the season strong with three goals and eight assists in 12 games during the month of March.
Part of his offensive strength comes from his ability get pucks on net. During the regular season, Beauregard was one of the top players in the league with 235 shots on net. He leads his team in the post-season as well with 34 shots on goal (third in the CHL during the post-season).
The Thunder and Beauregard are in a great spot with a 3-2 series lead over the Texas Brahmas in the Berry Finals. Game 6 is set for Monday night in Texas and if necessary, Game 7 would take place on Wednesday night in Wichita.
