NEHRING SIGNS WITH THE SUNDOGS
FOURTH FORWARD SIGNED THIS OFFSEASON
Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today that they have signed forward
Chad Nehring for the upcoming 2012-2013 season with the Central Hockey League. He is a 25-year-old, 5’11 native of Springside, Saskatchewan.
Nehring began his pro career with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads where he played in 64 games and tallied 35 points (18G and 17A). Prior to signing in Idaho, Nehring played for four seasons in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) with the Lake Superior State University. During his time in the NCAA he scored 30G and 23A, totaling 53 points in 147 games.
Nehring spent his three junior years from 2004-2007 playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for the Yorkton Terriers. He tallied 129 points (59G and 70A) in 151 games.
Nehring is no stranger to the high pressure associated with playoff games, having played in 10 post season games last season in the ECHL. He also contributed to the Yorkton Terriers SJHL League Championships in 2005 and 2006. Nehring also won a gold medal in The World Junior “A” Challenge, for Team Canada West, an international event featuring the best under-20 players in Junior A hockey in Canada, as well as national teams from across Europe.
