Dayton’s Nic Polaski Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

Nic Polaski has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending March 18, 2012.

The Colorado Springs, Colorado native had points in all three Dayton games last week notching at least one goal in each of them. The 6-1, 190-pound rookie finished the week with four goals and two assists to go along with a +4 plus/minus rating. His four goals in three games outmatched the two goals he had scored in his first 41 games with the Gems.
After scoring a goal in the Gems 5-4 loss to Rio Grande Valley on Friday night, Polaski caught fire and helped his team compile 15 goals over two games. On Saturday night, the forward scored a goal and was a +1 in the Gems 6-1 win in Bloomington. He followed that up with two goals (including the game winner) and two assists in Dayton’s 9-1 win over Laredo.
Polaski has had stops in the ECHL this season (Colorado) as well as the Southern Professional Hockey League (Huntsville) and in 44 games with the Gems has 12 points (6-6=12) and is a +1.
