ZACK FIRLOTTE SIGNS WITH THE ARIZONA SUNDOGS
Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today the signing of 26-year-old,
Zack Firlotte, for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. This will be the 6’2, 210lb defenseman’s first professional season.
Firlotte spent the last five seasons playing in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS), a regional membership association for Canadian Colleges. During the 2011-2012 season he played for, Dalhousie University where he tallied 2 points and 62 penalty minutes in 26 games. Prior to that, he played for the Acadia University Axemen’s for four seasons, collecting 22 points and 142 penalty minutes. In 2009 he was named the Axemen’s hockey defensive player of the year.
“I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity”, said Firlotte. “I’m excited to play with a team that has won a championship in the CHL”.
Prior to Firlotte playing collegiate hockey he played two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL), first with the St. John’s Fog Devils for a year and was later traded to the Acadie-Bathurst Titans. During his time in the Juniors he racked up 56 points (12 goals and 44 assists) and 273 penalty minutes in 129 games.
