A summer fishing trip to Alaska is proving to be therapeutic for injured Rapid City Rush goaltender Danny Battochio.
With his surgically-repaired knee healing nicely, Battochio has been spending time in the Land of the Midnight Sun angling for Chinook, Coho and Sockeye Salmon, as well as ocean fishing for cod and halibut.
“It’s been awesome. I’ve been fortunate to be up here for the week and enjoying some good fishing. It’s something I love to do. It’s good rehab, I guess,” Battochio said by telephone on Wednesday.
Even while on the sportsman’s holiday, Battochio is still not far from his regimen of therapy after surgery to repair his right anterior cruciate ligament, torn in a Feb. 10 game with the Missouri Mavericks.
