Security took me to the Sundogs main office where I met Robbie, Brent and Shane and was given a CHL Press Package which included a real press pass to hang on my neck.

Sundogs Take A Bite out of the Odessa Jackalopes.
Sundogs 4 (57 shots on goal), Jackalopes 1 (not enough shots on goal)

My name is Sam Pruitt, 10 years old, designated CHL Junior Reporter for the Arizona Sundogs, and this is my report. I felt proud and nervous as I entered the Sundog’s arena on Friday, November 24th. Security took me to the Sundogs main office where I met Robbie, Brent and Shane and was given a CHL Press Package which included a real press pass to hang on my neck.

Robby Incmikoski, the voice of the Arizona Sundogs on Wolf Radio (96.7) took me around the broadcasting booth, high above the arena. We had to walk on the roof to get there. Robby introduced me to the broadcaster from the Odessa team, the Jackalopes. He made him feel welcome and shared Game Notes with him.

I had printed my own stats from the Sundog website, but Robby had a better bunch of stats than I did that had a lot more current information, like who was injured and who was moving up within the CHL. After a tour of the arena I watched as Robby called the game from his spot high above the arena. I asked Robby a bunch of questions, like how did he like his job, and how does the team treat you? In the excitement I forgot a lot that I wanted to know, and was glad I wrote a few things down. Robby loves his job. He said ‘It is a dream job’.

It was so cool that he loves hockey as much as I do, that was making my job very easy. Robby was really good at calling the plays didn’t have to look at his notes too much. He loves his job and hockey. We all know that hockey rocks!! Robby gets to report it!! How cool is that?

The Sundogs played perfect. Svagrovsky scored one in the 2nd period, with help from Doggies Orr and Wheat. Also in 2nd Odessa answered, with a goal by Shrum, teammates Rutter and Hillman assisted. Stillman scores in the 3rd, with assists by Landry and Bartalone. Again in the 3rd Bartalone scored, with Doggies Laperriere and Sellan assisting. Stillman almost pulled off a hat-trick by scoring again in the 3rd with help from Kelly (my favorite). Arizona had 4 goals to Odessa’s 1 sad goal.

After the game, Shane brought me to the Sundog locker room where I talked to one of my favorite, and Sundog top scorer, Brent Kelly #9 about his career/life.
Q: How much money do you make?
A: Enough to keep me happy!

Q: When did you know that hockey would be your career?
A: 16

Q: When did you start playing hockey?
A: When I was 4 years old

Q: Do you like to get into fights like Doyle?
A: No, I mostly score goals.

This was the best night of my life!!
