Laredo defenseman Adam Rivet has been selected as the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for Week Eight of the season after registering five goals (including his first professional hat-trick) for the Bucks during a 3-1-0 week. Rivet began his week by scoring the tying goal in the third period on Wednesday in a 2-1 overtime home win over Corpus Christi. Friday night he assisted on the game tying goal in the third period in a 3-2 come from behind home victory over Austin and Saturday scored the Bucks only goal in a 2-1 road loss to Rio Grande Valley.
His best outing came Sunday, potting a hat-trick against the Killer Bees in a 9-4 home win. Rivet leads the Bucks with both 10 goals and 25 points and leads all defenseman in points. The 2nd year pro was an All-CHL Rookie team selection last season and a finalist for CHL Rookie of the Year.
