Wichita All-Star netminder Sebastien Laplante earns selection as the Oakley Goaltender of the Week for Week 12 of the CHL season after stopping 71 of 74 shots faced in a pair of quality outings for the Thunder. Laplante turned in two outstanding home starts for the Thunder this week to improve his season record to 9-7-3. Friday evening he turned aside all but one of Odessa’s 36 shots as the Thunder posted a 7-1 victory.

The next evening in front of a capacity crowd of 9,560 at the Kansas Coliseum he was nearly as impressive, making 36 saves in an eventual 3-2 shootout loss to Oklahoma City. Named to his first CHL All-Star Game in late December, Laplante ranks among the leaders in goals against average (5th at 2.68), save percentage (4th at 9.25) and saves (4th with 662).
