Brandon Rose of the Oklahoma City Blazers has been selected as the Central Hockey Leagues Equipment Manager of the Year following completion of balloting among his peers across the CHL. Rose is in his 11th season with the Blazers organization, and his 9th as the clubs full time Equipment Manager, helping the team capture the 2000-2001 CHL playoff championship.
He has gained a well deserved reputation throughout the CHL for his hard work, dedication and cooperativeness in all day to day operations. A native Oklahoman, 29-year old Brando resides in nearby Yukon with his wife Heather, son Tyson and daughter Avery. Frank Jury of the Wichita Thunder ranked second in balloting for the award, presented to the Central Hockey League Equipment Manager selected by his peers to have performed his duties with the highest level of professionalism.
Additional upcoming CHL award recipients to be announced include Coach of the Year (later today), the All-CHL and All-Rookie teams (Wednesday), the CHL Man of the Year, Rick Kozuback Award and Rookie of the Year honorees (Thursday) as well as the Most Outstanding Defenseman and Most Outstanding Goaltender on Friday. The CHL Most Valuable Player recipient will be announced Monday, March 26th, along with the winner of the Joe Burton Scoring Champion award.
