St. Vincent Replaces Injured St. Pierre As Oilers Make Roster Adjustments
A couple of injuries have forced the Tulsa Oilers to make roster moves, heading into a three game weekend. Goaltender Guy St. Vincent has signed a five game contract with the Oilers who have placed goaltender Kevin St. Pierre on season ending injured reserve. St. Pierre will undergo wrist surgery. In 24 games with the Oilers this season, he was 5-15-3 with a 3.55 goals against average and a .896 save percentage.
St. Vincent, will be playing for his sixth Central Hockey League team. Earlier this season while playing for the Rocky Mountain Rage, he shutout the Oilers over a 24 and a half minute span on December 29^th , while the Rage rallied from a 5-0 deficit at the start of the third period to win 6-5 in a shootout.
In another move, the Oilers signed defenseman Justin Schmit, and placed defenseman Jesse Baraniuk on 30-day injured reserve. Schmitt played 12 games for the Rocky Mountain this season and joins the Oilers from the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The 5-foot-11, 180 pounder had 118 penalty minutes with Rocky Mountain.
