Eagles Ink Pair of Players Acquired in Esdale Trade
WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles announced today that they have signed forwards Jon Jankus and Adam Hogg, the players whose rights they acquired when they sent Paul Esdale to Corpus Christi at last season’s trade deadline. Both players will be new additions to the team as the trade was not finalized until the offseason.
Both Ontario natives are classified as developmental players (fewer than 129 professional games-played), having only one season of CHL experience; Jankus has two years of professional experience, spending the 2006-07 season in the UHL.
Jankus has a reputation as a point-producer, registering 50 (11-39-50) in 64 games with the Rayz last season, 68 (25-43-68) in 130 games at the University of Maine and 80 (30-50-80) in 49 games played in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. His 50-point season last year was good enough to tie him for third on the Rayz roster – only six points off the team lead – and his 39 assists ranked first.
Hogg registered 18 points (10-8-18) in his first professional season last year and showed a knack for scoring clutch goals. The winger scored three game-winners and four short-handed markers (one of which was also a game-winner), ranking one off the team lead in both categories.
