Blazers Ruin Lawrence's Celebration
It was supposed to be a celebration for the career of Doug Lawrence who became the fourth Oilers player to have his jersey retired, but following the festivities, the Oklahoma City Blazers and D.J. Jelitto (hat trick and an assist) crashed the party with a 5-2 win at the BOK Center.

The Blazers outshot the Oilers 18-11 in the first period but in the locker room they had to be frustrated tied in a 2-2 game. Lucas Labelle and Jeff Christian scored goals for Tulsa and Jelitto and Bill Vandermeer scored for the Blazers.
The rest of the game was dominated by OKC with Jelitto scoring twice and Oriel McHugh scoring the fifth goal propelling the Blazers to the win.
OKC outshot the Oiler 25-11 in the final two periods combined.
Doug Groenestege earned the victory despite being tossed from the game during a second period brawl.
The win keeps the Blazers in first place in the Northeast Division.
