OAKLEY CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED
Texas’ Jason Deitsch Earns Weekly Award
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb 22nd, 2009 is forward Jason Deitsch of the Texas Brahmas.
Deitsch scored five goals with three assists during the Brahmas three games last week and was a +6. Two of his goals served as game winners for Texas who has taken a firm grip of the Southeast Division leading Laredo by 13 points. The Cincinnati, Ohio native started the week in style with four points (2-2=4) and a +4 plus/minus rating in the Brahmas showdown with Bucks (a 5-2 Texas win). He then scored a goal in Saturday’s shootout loss to Odessa and had two goals and an assist in the Brahmas win on Sunday versus Oklahoma City. On the season, the 6-0, 195-pound forward has 16 goals and 18 assists in 24 games played. He has also played in 28 games with the AHL’s Houston Aeros totaling 15 points (4-11=15).
In recognition of his achievement, Deitsch will receive a special gift from Oakley.
