Bees Top Bucks in Shootout

LAREDO, TEXAS — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees wrapped up their first 3-in-3 stretch of the season with a 6-5 shootout win over the Laredo Bucks Sunday at the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Shaun Landolt scored the decisive shootout goal in the sixth round of the extra extra and then Andy Franck denied Laredo's Neil Trimm to seal the win.

Zak McClellan led RGV with four points (2-2-4) while Sean Muncy collected three assists. Mike Harr  tied things at 5-5 for RGV with his pro goal at the 18:04 mark of the third.

Laredo scored three times on eight power play opportunities. Jeff Bes had a pair of goals for the Bucks, including  one that made it 5-4 with 3:04 left in regulation.

Franck made 29 saves for the win while Laredo's Kyle Gajewski turned aside 22.
