Tulsa Shuts Out Allen; Remains Unbeaten at Home
The Tulsa Oilers improved to 4-2-0 on the season and a perfect 3-0 at home with a 4-0 shutout win over the Allen Americans at the BOK Center on Tuesday night. The loss is the first in regulation for the expansion American who fall to 4-1-1 on the season.

Tulsa’s Rick Kozak gave the Oilers an early lead with his second goal of the season at the 4:47 mark of the first period but it was the Oilers’ play late in the frame that made it an uphill battle for the Americans. T.J. Caig and Rob Hisey each scored a goal in the final two minutes of the first period making the score 3-0 after one. For Hisey, it was his fifth goal in his last four games and team-leading eighth on the season.
The Oilers made no doubt about the outcome early in the second period with defenseman Tom Maldonado scoring his first goal of the season.
Both Hisey and Caig finished with a goal and an assist.
Kevin Armstrong made 32 saves earning his first CHL shutout. The loss goes to the previously undefeated Charlie Effinger who made 28 saves in the game. His record now sits at 3-1.
On special teams, the Oilers missed on 11 chances and the Americans went 0 for 8.
