MAVERICKS ADD SCHWARTZBAUER, WAIVE BOWLES
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – Missouri Mavericks’ Head Coach Scott Hillman today announced the Central Hockey League (CHL) club has signed defenseman Nathan Schwartzbauer and waived forward Sam Bowles.
Schwartzbauer, 27 (5/4/82), begins his third pro season with the Mavericks. The Wasilla, Alaska native played the 2008-09 season with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL and tallied 12 points (1-11=12) and 50 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound defenseman is no stranger to the CHL having played his rookie season with the Youngstown SteelHounds. In total, Schwartzbauer has played in 136 pro games and has 23 points on four goals and 19 assists. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Bemidji State University. Schwartzbauer will wear #29 with the Mavericks.
Bowles played in six games with the Mavericks before being waived. The Davidsonville, Maryland native had one goal and four penalty minutes with the Mavericks. He has been signed by the Southern Professional Hockey League’s (SPHL) Columbus Cottonmouths on a three-game tryout.
