The Gorillas mounted a three-goal charge in the second period with goals from defensemen James Jernberg and Rod Aldoff and a nifty goal from a turnaround shot in front of the net by newcomer Jason Beeman.
Texas would storm back in the third period with three goals in less than five minutes, two scored by A.J. Gale (his fourth and fifth of the season). Pete Rouleau would tie the game at the 9:28 mark and Texas would have a great chance to take the lead with a 4:00 minute power play late in the period thanks to a high-sticking call but the Gorillas desperation on the penalty kill and some big saves by Mike Brown kept the Brahmas power play at bay.
After the Texas man advantage, a turnover in the neutral zone allowed Jake Morissette to streak down the right wing and rip one by Joe Palmer regaining the lead for the Gorillas for good.
The Brahmas outshot the Gorillas 34-21 in the game but Brown was stopped 31 shots improving to 4-2-0 on the season.
