'Thunder Bay Bolt' Gives Americans Roster a Jolt
Continuing to stockpile talent for their second season in the Central Hockey League, the Allen Americans have announced the signing of Bobby Bolt, a 5th round pick of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The 6-foot-3 inch winger skated in the Ontario Hockey League from 2003-2007, playing most of his junior career with the Kingston Frontenacs. While in Kingston, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native piled up 90 points in 197 games over three seasons. Bolt also totaled 251 penalty minutes during his stint in Kingston.
Bolt potted 16 goals and 11 assists, alongside 52 penalty minutes in 67 games with the Augusta Lynx during the 2007-2008 ECHL season.
Bolt closed out the 2007-2008 campaign with a brief stint skating for the AHL’s Portland Pirates. Most recently, Bolt practiced his craft in the IHL, notching 19 points in 73 games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Bolt hopes to capitalize on his chance in Allen in order to cultivate more interest within the AHL and NHL ranks.
