Fort Wayne, IN – The Komets and 7,289 Fort Wayne fans celebrated Thanksgiving with a 5-2 victory over the visiting Quad City Mallards Thursday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The Komets improve to 31-14-4 with their third consecutive Thanksgiving win. It was the first time the Komets scored five or more goals in a game since April 11 of last season when they doubled-up the Mallards 8-4 on Fort Wayne ice. The win stops Fort Wayne’s losing streak at five games as the Komets improve to 3-8-1 on the season. The Mallards lost their second straight game and fall to 8-7-0.

Komet defenseman Frankie DeAngelis earned first-star honors registering a four-point affair scoring a goal and adding three assists and leads Fort Wayne after 12 games with seven assists and 10 points. Chris Francis, Brandon Warner, Mathieu Curadeau and Neil Musselwhite also scored for the Komets. Mike McLean and Joel Gasper found the net for the Mallards and Tyler Kindle contributed two assists.
Nick Boucher earned his third win of the season in the Fort Wayne net stopping 36 of 38 shots. Quad City’s Adam Russo suffered his first loss of the season in five appearances making 30 saves.
