WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder beat the Quad City Mallards 4-1 at the INTRUST Bank Arena on Sunday evening.

Aaron Davis scored two goals while Marc-Antoine Gelinas stopped 28 of 29 in the win.
Wichita scored twice in the second period to open a 3-1 lead. Aaron Davis broke a 1-1 tie at 10:39, scoring his second goal of the night. Davis took a centering pass from Matt Robinson and shot just under the crossbar for the go-ahead goal. Chris Greene made it 3-1 at 14:57, faking out Mallards' goaltender Adam Russo on a two-on-one. Greene brought the puck down the right circle and snuck it around Russo's left pad after the netminder came out to challenge him at the top of the crease.
Jesse Bennefield sealed the game at 15:58 in the third period, shooting past Russo's left during an odd-man rush. Just prior, Gelinas made a key save on a Joel Gasper breakaway that kept Quad City from pulling back within one goal.
Quad City scored the first goal of the game at 8:12 in the first. Tyler Sheast ripped a shot from the right half boards over the shoulder of Marc-Antoine Gelinas. The Thunder evened things just 28 seconds later on a goal from Davis. Andrew Martens flipped the puck through the length of the slot where Davis re-directed it behind Russo from just outside the crease.
Each team was 0 for 1 on the power play. Russo took the loss, saving 44 of 48. The Thunder finishes the regular season 12-1-2 against the Turner Conference at the INTRUST Bank Arena.
