What a year it has been for Colorado goaltender Kyle Jones.
The North Delta, British Columbia native was named an all-star, won 29 games with four shutouts and carried a 2.62 goals against average.
Very impressive stuff for a goalie who coming into this season had just a modest 22-33-8 professional record while playing with Quad City (IHL), Worcester (AHL) and Phoenix (ECHL).
One of the biggest success Jones experienced this season was his play versus the Eagle stop rival, the Rapid City Rush who coincidentally are the opponent standing in the way of the Eagles making it to their fifth Presidents’ Cup Finals.
Against the Rush, Jones won eight of nine decisions allowing just 18 goals, goad for a 1.91 goals against average.
In the playoffs, Jones and his teammate Andrew Penner have been quite a pair combining to allow just 18 goals in eight playoff games (2.25 GAA).
Jones and Colorado will get after it in the conference finals on Friday night in Rapid City in Game 1 of their best-of-7 series.
