The Tulsa Oilers' season ended Saturday, but the next season began Monday for coach Bruce Ramsay.
"I'm starting to put together another team that's capable of winning a championship," he said. "We had that kind of team this year. We didn't get as far as we wanted, but we showed all year that we could beat any team in any rink."
The season - Tulsa's most successful in 17 years - concluded with a dramatic 5-4 loss to Bossier-Shreveport in Game 5 of the second round of the Central Hockey League playoffs.
"They kept fighting until the very end," Ramsay said. "It was just very disheartening because we were so close."
The resilience of the Oilers was again evident Saturday. After trailing 4-1 entering the third period, they rallied and had a chance to tie the game in the final minute.
