IceMen Acquire Goalie Pelletier from Laredo
The Evansville IceMen have their masked man as they completed a trade on Wednesday acquiring goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier from the Laredo Bucks in exchange for future considerations.
Pelletier, 24, was one of the top young netminders in the CHL for the past two seasons compiling a 16-19-8 record with Laredo. He also saw a couple call-ups to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (the top affiliate of the New York Rangers).
The 6-2, 194-pound was a 2005 NHL draft pick of the Phoenix Coyotes taken in the second round (59th overall).
During his junior career, Pelletier won 78 games in four years seeing action with both Drummondville and Halifax. His best year was during the 2006-07 season when he posted 29 wins and a 2.97 goals against average.
