Independence, MO — Scott Hillman walked into his office in the Independence Events Center Monday morning looking like anything but a coach who was coming off a sensational 5-0 road trip to open the 2011-2012 Central Hockey League season.
The reason Hillman wore a look of concern was simple: Standout forwards
Ryan Jardine (upper-body injury) and
Ed McGrane (lower-body injury) had to be placed on the 10-day injured reserve list.
“To do what we did without two proven, veteran scorers like Jardine and McGrane is fantastic,” Hillman said. “We’re putting Jardine on the IR retroactive to Oct. 26 and McGrane retroactive to Oct. 28.”
That means McGrane will miss this weekend’s road and home series against Wichita and Jardine will only be able to play in Saturday night’s home opener.
