HIDALGO – Twelve months ago, Charles Fontaine was three years removed from his last shift and selling cars at a Mazda dealership in Montreal. Now he’s a defenseman for the Killer Bees, who play twice this weekend at Arizona.
No, that’s not a move people usually make, going from selling cars in Montreal to playing hockey in Hidalgo of all places.
“I know, I know, but when you’re a hockey player and you have it in you it never leaves you,” Fontaine said. “I think you need to accomplish your dreams and a dream that is not over. I couldn’t live with it.”
