Youth Movement in Tulsa
There has been some commotion this year in Tulsa as their young squad filled with rookies has been showing great progress and much success. Every offseason is always filled with new signings, but no other organization is benefiting from this as much as the Oilers. Tulsa is currently third in the Turner Conference with a record of 10-7-2 and are just one win from first place.
In addition, they lead the league in the “Goals For” category with 73 goals scored. All these statistics are pretty incredible once you take in the fact that the majority of Tulsa’s scoring has come from first year players.
Out of all the rookies in the league, Tulsa finds themselves with four of the top five who have been leading the way for all rookies to follow.
Dylan Clarke,
Mike Ullrich,
Jeff Terminesi, and
Ryan Cramer lead all rookies in scoring and are among the overall league leaders as well.
Clarke is currently the league leader in rookies this season with 24 points (7g, 17a) in 19 games played. He is currently finds himself tied for fifth in the league in points and leads all rookies with 17 assists.

Ullrich has been just as hot as Clarke, scoring 22 points (13g, 9a) in 19 games played and finds himself second amongst all rookies, and ninth in the entire league. Ullrich’s hot stick has helped him scored 13 goals, placing him in a tie for first with RGV’s Aaron Lee for the league lead in goals and recently Ullrich was named the 50/50 Central/CHL Rookie of the Month for November.
Terminesi is the lone defenseman in this group of rookies and his hard play recently earned him the Oakley CHL Player of the Week award (he is the first and only defenseman this season to win this award this season). He sits third in all rookies with 19 points (4g, 15 a) in 19 games played and is first among all defensemen in the scoring department.
Last but definitely not least is Cramer, a rookie forward who finds himself fifth in rookie scoring with 17 points (7g, 10a) in 18 games played. In November, Camer played 12 games and tallied four goals with nine assists.
Other rookies showing great promise and serving as key contributors to the Oilers cause are
David Solway (12 pts),
Jay Sprague (nine pts),
Ryan Raven (five pts) and
Derek Foam (one pt).
The Oilers host Allen on Friday night, one of the teams in front of them in the Berry Conference. Tune into CHL-TV for all the action!
