The defending Presidents Cup Champion Colorado Eagles and Laredo Bucks will meet for the second time this season tonight, and the first time in Laredo since May 4th, where goaltender Paulo Colaicovo and his Eagles teammates posted a 1-0 win to claim the 04-05 title. The clubs opened with a meeting October 21st in Colorado, with the Eagles earning a 4-2 win. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 5-2-0, including a 2-1 overtime win in Rio Grande Valley on Friday, while the Bucks appear to be hitting their stride, winning four straight after struggling early this year.
Laredo will likely again be without speedster Brent Cullaton, recalled by San Antonio of the American Hockey League, but received a big boost from 03-04 CHL MVP Jeff Bes on Friday, scoring twice and adding a pair of assists in a 6-5 shootout win over Amarillo. Countering for Colorado is last years Most Valuable Player, Greg Pankewicz.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Tulsa finishes up a two game series in Youngstown, Wichita skates in Odessa, Oklahoma City travels to Lubbock, Bossier-Shreveport visits Fort Worth, Amarillo plays in Corpus Christi and Austin journeys to Rio Grande Valley.
